Company History
From the deployment of our first control systems to expanding our portfolio with tailored solutions for various industries: throughout our history we have continuously refined our technologies. We still invest in R&D to stay one decisive step ahead for our customers.

1971
Founding of Sit Engineering Office
1972
First joint electrical installation projects
Collaboration with Rapistan Lande (now Vanderlande Industries).
1977
Split from the engineering firm
Division into Sit Steuerungstechnik GmbH and Ingenieurbüro GZP (Grünnagel, Zoller + Partner).
1983
Relocation to Ettlingen
Move to a new location combined with the merger of office and switch cabinet construction.
1992
First major airport project
Implementation for Terminal I at Munich Airport “Franz Josef Strauß”.
2000
Amazon projects
First major Amazon projects in the Bad Hersfeld and Milton Keynes distribution centers – followed by around 40 other locations in Europe to date.
2007
DHL projects
First DHL project at the DHL Eurohub in Leipzig.
2008
Branch in the Swabian town of Schönaich
New location in Schönaich.
2010
Large-scale baggage handling system project
Implementation at the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport “Willy Brandt”.
2011
Dirks Group
Sit SteuerungsTechnik GmbH becomes a subsidiary of the Dirks Group.
2015
Bulk cargo system at the DHL Eurohub in Leipzig
First prototype of a bulky goods system at the DHL Eurohub in Leipzig.
2016
First project with the Dirks Group
First joint collaboration (wheel assembly in Emden).
2019
ISO9001 certification
